I Have A Date With Spring - The Musical (Dama Orchestra)

Last Saturday I brought my mom to watch this musical drama. Bought the tickets mainly for charity purposes without checking out about the show.

Hehe.... frankly speaking, I didn't have high hope of the production initially because of my past experience with one charity show last time but WOW... was I AMAZED by the high standards. I'm so proud that Malaysia has such talents.

Wish I could sing like that..... :p

What should I do to marry a rich guy?

(extracted from a forwarded email I received -- .....good answer!)

MINDBLOWING THOUGHT PROCESS!!!

A young and pretty lady posted this on a popular forum:

Title: What should I do to marry a rich guy?

I'm going to be honest of what I'm going to say here. I'm 25 this year. I'm very pretty, have style and good taste. I wish to marry a guy with $500k annual salary or above. You might say that I'm greedy, but an annual salary of $1M is considered only as middle class in New York. My requirement is not high. Is there anyone in this forum who has an income of $500k annual salary? Are you all married? I wanted to ask: what should I do to marry rich persons like you? Among those I've dated, the richest is $250k annual income, and it seems that this is my upper limit. If someone is going to move into high cost residential area on the west of New York CityGarden(?), $250k annual income is not enough.

I'm here humbly to ask a few questions:

1) Where do most rich bachelors hang out? (Please list down the names and addresses of bars, restaurant, gym)

2) Which age group should I target?

3) Why most wives of the riches is only average-looking? I've met a few girls who doesn't have looks and are not interesting, but they are able to marry rich guys

4) How do you decide who can be your wife, and who can only be your girlfriend? (my target now is to get married)

Ms. Pretty

Awesome reply:

Dear Ms. Pretty,

I have read your post with great interest. Guess there are lots of girls out there who have similar questions like yours. Please allow me to analyse your situation as a professional investor. My annual income is more than $500k, which meets your requirement, so I hope everyone believes that I'm not wasting time here. From the standpoint of a business person, it is a bad decision to marry you. The answer is very simple, so let me explain. Put the details aside, what you're trying to do is an exchange of "beauty" and "money": Person A provides beauty, and Person B pays for it, fair and square. However, there's a deadly problem here, your beauty will fade, but my money will not be gone without any good reason. The fact is, my income might increase from year to year, but you can't be prettier year after year. Hence from the viewpoint of economics, I am an appreciation asset, and you are a depreciation asset. It's not just normal depreciation, but exponential depreciation. If that is your only asset, your value will be much worried 10 years later.

By the terms we use in Wall Street, every trading has a position, dating with you is also a "trading position". If the trade value dropped we will sell it and it is not a good idea to keep it for long term - same goes with the marriage that you wanted. It might be cruel to say this, but in order to make a wiser decision any assets with great depreciation value will be sold or "leased". Anyone with over $500k annual income is not a fool; we would only date you, but will not marry you. I would advice that you forget looking for any clues to marry a rich guy. And by the way, you could make yourself to become a rich person with $500k annual income. This has better chance than finding a rich fool.

Hope this reply helps. If you are interested in "leasing" services, do

Make sure your EPF Nominee info is updated

Dear All,

A reliable source informed me that our KWSP has recently upgraded their system and advised me to go check my nominee info to make sure that it is correct.

Alas.... true enough when I finally find time to go check, I was told that there was no Nominee stated for my EPF account. This means I need to submit the info together with a photocopy of my Nominee I/C..... again!

Malaysia Boleh! ٩(-̮̮̃•̃)۶ Please go check your EPF Nominee info ASAP, ya? ^_^

================================================
(extract from my forwarded email)

Info Sharing :

If One (1) of our Nominee in the EPF Nominees list decease, automatically
the whole arrangement (EPF Nominees list) is VOID. Meaning if, you only put
in One (1) name & unfortunately he/she dies before you - automatically EPF
will channel your EPF money to trustee of AMANAH RAYA upon your death.

Thou if, you DO have few names in the EPF Nominees list still - the whole
arrangement is VOID & none of the individual balance name in the EPF
Nominees list will get their potion & automatically EPF will channel your
EPF money to trustee of AMANAH RAYA upon your death.

Piece of advice - if any of the your Nominee in the EPF Nominees list
decease, please do immediately approach the nearest EPF counter & present
the Death Certificate of the individual & re-instate you NEW/LATEST Nominee
in the EPF Nominees list + NEW/LATEST percentage.

If , you & the other party (maybe spouse) involved in the same misfortune
(accident/illness) that caused death to both yourself/spouse
please.please. .please alert your siblings/relatives/ parents to immediately
approach the nearest EPF counter & share the information within 3 days to
AVOID all EPF money to be surrender to trustee of AMANAH RAYA.

Upon surrender to trustee of AMANAH RAYA, your children will have to battle
the money thru 3 channels;

Majlis Agama (Faraid & faster.)
Pejabat Tanah (don't ask me why.)
Mahkamah
The normal period via above 3 channels usually takes 2-3 years (except if u
have inside/tip top connection) at Amanah Raya.

Check out SPCA new website !

SPCA website has recently been revamped, making it easier to find information. Check out their adoption page (http://www.spca.org.my/v51/adoption.php) too if you are thinking of getting a new pet.

Before you run to a pet shop, do check out the abandon animals in SPCA. One good reason for you to consider is that all these animals has been medically cleared and safe to bring home. However, before you decided to have a pet, make sure that they are for keeps -- through good times & bad times. That's because, animal have feelings too. You don't want to give them hope & love and later left them with betrayal & loneliness. If you won't do that to your family, don't do that to your pet.
Besides adopting the animals, here's a few ways that you can help out:
Find out more at www.spca.org.my.

Remember, animals are NOT toys !!!

The Royal Belum Getaway

(Original pictures courtesy of Nicole)

Peaceful & calm -- surrounded by emerald green waters, rolling hills and greet by a perfect arch of the rainbow, that's what we have experienced in our recent trip to the Royal Belum Forest.

Located at Tasik Temenggor, Perak, we stayed at a private island owned by the award winning Belum Eco-resort Sdn. Bhd.

Managed by the Khong's family, our handsome host, Tom, made our stay a most enjoyable one. We expected to rough it out in the 130 million years old forest but instead was greeted with 5-star dishes and treatments.

You'll have people to carry your bags, hot shower if you like, unlimited use of non-motor watersport, fruits with every meal, baked potato with secret recipe sauce..... This is really "Heaven" !!!

The best thing about this place is that it is built around the surrounding nature with minimal trees being cut down. You'll never get bored enjoying the wonderful view. However, if you are the type that can't stay away from the city entertaintment (hehehe...) you can still watch the Astro & play mahjong (not kidding!!). But for me, doing nothing is just the best........aahhhh. :)

(special thanks to Wai Kong from MyTravelKaki for organising this trip)

Story of Wallpaper and Recycle Paper

I heard this over the Chinese radio last Sunday...

One day, recycle paper looks admiringly at wallpaper and says, "I have been recycled many, many times. I wished that I can be in such a stable position like you."

Wallpaper replied, "You can too.... as long as you give your best every time you are recycled. One day Master will see your potential and convert you into a Wallpaper."

The moral of the stories.....(hehe, bet you think this is about recycling) Always give your best no matter which task or position that you are assigned to first, and your potential will be recognised ultimately.

Another way to look at it is...... Don't just admire other people. Look into oneself and asked, "have you prepared yourself enough to be on that spot too?". Make no excuses to fail but find the reasons to win!

Back To Nature 2 : The Cleaning Garbage

When you cook at home or eat fruits, take note of how much garbage do you generate from the process – before & after. What do you do with these “kitchen waste”? Throw away & generate more methane gas?

INTRODUCING…… Dr. Rosukon’s Garbage Enzyme

What’s that?
It’s a science project you can start at home with your vegetable & fruit waste to produce top-quality, safe & environmental friendly solutions that can replace the “harmful household chemicals” and……helps reverse the Green House Effect.

What can the Garbage Enzyme do?

1. Purify Air/Reduce Pollution
2. Purify Underground Water (from river to the sea)
3. Natural Pesticide
4. Anti bacterial and virus
5. Unblock your kitchen pipe & toilet bowls
6. Deodorizer (yup, this product of garbage helps clear the air)
7. For ironing & washing
8. Natural Fertilizer

Have I got you interested yet? :p

THE Recipe

You'll need :
(a) An Airtight Plastic Container (5KG cooking oil container will do)
(b) Brown Sugar/Molasses
(c) Water
(d) Vegetable/Fruit garbage (chop to smaller pieces)

The ratio for the ingredients in making Garbage Enzyme is:
1 part Brown Sugar
10 parts Water
3 parts Garbage

Method:
i. Mix brown sugar with water, add in the garbage.
ii. Leave some space for fermentation.
iii. Enzyme will form and ready to use in 3 months.
iv. Make sure the container is air tight.
vi. Push the floating garbage downward once a while.
vii. The enzyme is ready to use in 3 months. The residue can be reuse for the next production by adding fresh garbage. It can be use as fertilizer by drying the residue, blending and buried in the ground.

Important Notes:

-- Use a plastic container as there will be some gas build up.

-- MUST add sugar (find out why, Dr. Rose Explained: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rFN1oOW4ebE)

-- Leave some space : The ingredients when added up should come up to about 80% of your container, thus 20% space is needed for fermentation. You may release the gas once in a while (some say once daily, some say once every week) in the first month during the fermentation process. After that keep it airtight till it reaches the end of the 3rd month when it is ready for use. Filter it into your bottles and use it on your household and those recommended.

Back To Nature 1 : STOP Poisoning ourselves with chemicals

We have heard it, we have read it and yet, we still do it.

Scientist discovered even people who eats healthily, live healthily are getting cancer and other chronic diseases. Why is that? That’s because our daily FOOD & so-called cleaning solutions we so depend upon to keep us “healthy” are poisoning us!

Shocking, isn’t it? If you have not realized yet, our fruits & vegetables is filled with chemical fertilizers. The fishes & chickens are fed & injected with growth hormones & chemical feeds. We wash ourselves & everything around us with chemicals that could burn/kill if accidentally taken. Don’t believe? Do you know that dishwashers can kill you pet cat or dog?

What can we do? Go Organic? That’s one option. However, I realized that the term “Organic” and “Biodegradable” can be very vague and there are some non-ethical businesses out there that try to manipulate this “crisis awareness” and loosely claimed their sub-standard products.

HAHa ! Good thing you read my blog (heheh). Recently I have come to know of a wonderful “recipe” that you can make at home to replace ALL the cleaning solutions in your house and even your plants would love it and grow healthy & STRONG!

Come back in a couple of days for the “special recipe(muahahaha....) if you care enough for mother nature.

Temperature rising (amat panas sekali !!!)

Hi folks ! Sorry for the short hiatus. Nope, I haven't given up my blog yet.
Just been SUPER Busy lately. :p

Anyway, I’m sure everyone noticed the extreme hot weather recently. A sure sign of global warming, isn’t it? U know, I started to imagine very soon human will start their daily activity during the evening instead of early morning because the morning and afternoon sun might be too hot to bear. Will this ever happen? Only time will tell.

There have been many awareness campaign urging people to be more environment friendly by changing little things they do in their daily life.

Here’s a list of “simple changes” that I think anyone can make – if only you want to (instead of giving excuses):

(p.s.: do you notice that recycle also helps to cut down expenses?)

1. Reduce plastic bags – bring with you a foldable shopping bag

2. Recycle your washing water – here are what I like to do
  • Rice water : good for plants & your skin
  • Detergent water from washing your clothes : recycle to scrub your toilet/driveway/rags
3. Switch on air-cond only when necessary – set timer

4. Keep more plants around you – best natural air filter & cooler

5. Plan your driving trip to keep it less – too many cars on the road already.

I think many people wanted to do their part to for the environment. However, as usual, changing their current lifestyle is not easy for most people. That is why people constantly need reminder, encouragement & group support.

If everyone in every household do their bit, hopefully we will see our earth starts healing from the damage that has been done……. poor, poor polar bears. :(

The Poem : Please Hear What I'm NOT Saying

I was going through my old notebook and found this poem which I've copied from a book about the life of a physical challenged girl named Jane.

Please Hear What I'm NOT Saying (by Charles C. Finn)

Don't be fooled by me.
Don't be fooled by the face I wear
for I wear a mask, a thousand masks,
masks that I'm afraid to take off,
and none of them is me.

Pretending is an art that's second nature with me,
but don't be fooled,
for God's sake don't be fooled.
I give you the impression that I'm secure,
that all is sunny and unruffled with me, within as well
as without,
that confidence is my name and coolness my game,
that the water's calm and I'm in command
and that I need no one,
but don't believe me.
My surface may seem smooth but my surface is my mask,
ever-varying and ever-concealing.
Beneath lies no complacence.
Beneath lies confusion, and fear, and aloneness.
But I hide this. I don't want anybody to know it.
I panic at the thought of my weakness exposed.
That's why I frantically create a mask to hide behind,
a nonchalant sophisticated facade,
to help me pretend,
to shield me from the glance that knows.

But such a glance is precisely my salvation, my only hope,
and I know it.
That is, if it's followed by acceptance,
if it's followed by love.
It's the only thing that can liberate me from myself,
from my own self-built prison walls,
from the barriers I so painstakingly erect.
It's the only thing that will assure me
of what I can't assure myself,
that I'm really worth something.
But I don't tell you this. I don't dare to, I'm afraid to.
I'm afraid your glance will not be followed by acceptance,
will not be followed by love.
I'm afraid you'll think less of me,
that you'll laugh, and your laugh would kill me.
I'm afraid that deep-down I'm nothing
and that you will see this and reject me.

So I play my game, my desperate pretending game,
with a facade of assurance without
and a trembling child within.
So begins the glittering but empty parade of masks,
and my life becomes a front.
I idly chatter to you in the suave tones of surface talk.
I tell you everything that's really nothing,
and nothing of what's everything,
of what's crying within me.
So when I'm going through my routine
do not be fooled by what I'm saying.
Please listen carefully and try to hear what I'm not saying,
what I'd like to be able to say,
what for survival I need to say,
but what I can't say.

I don't like hiding.
I don't like playing superficial phony games.
I want to stop playing them.
I want to be genuine and spontaneous and me
but you've got to help me.
You've got to hold out your hand
even when that's the last thing I seem to want.
Only you can wipe away from my eyes
the blank stare of the breathing dead.
Only you can call me into aliveness.
Each time you're kind, and gentle, and encouraging,
each time you try to understand because you really care,
my heart begins to grow wings--
very small wings,
very feeble wings,
but wings!

With your power to touch me into feeling
you can breathe life into me.
I want you to know that.
I want you to know how important you are to me,
how you can be a creator--an honest-to-God creator--
of the person that is me
if you choose to.
You alone can break down the wall behind which I tremble,
you alone can remove my mask,
you alone can release me from my shadow-world of panic,
from my lonely prison,
if you choose to.
Please choose to.

Do not pass me by.
It will not be easy for you.
A long conviction of worthlessness builds strong walls.
The nearer you approach to me
the blinder I may strike back.
It's irrational, but despite what the books say about man
often I am irrational.
I fight against the very thing I cry out for.
But I am told that love is stronger than strong walls
and in this lies my hope.
Please try to beat down those walls
with firm hands but with gentle hands
for a child is very sensitive.

Who am I, you may wonder?
I am someone you know very well.
For I am every man you meet
and I am every woman you meet.

Romantic fantasy

This is the month where we all will be bombarded with Lovey-dovey ads cos Valentine Day is approaching again.

Every girl has their own dream version of romantic moments. Is it strange if I told you that I've never had a really "romantic moments" before? Never.

I started thinking perhaps Malaysian guys aren't romantic. Then again, we frequently read about how guys go all out & does romantic stuffs for their gf/wife in the news. Now, I began to suspect that it could be me. Perhaps I'm sending the wrong signal out that I am very practical person so no need to "waste money" on lovely flowers, surprise gifts, etc., etc.

Yes, I like practical but HEY! I LOVE pleasant surprises too. I'm a Scorpio, O.K.? Romance is in my star. *Hint, hint, hint* ...LOL!

Anyway, my "secret" (no-more) romantic fantasy........... (jeng, jeng, jeng)

..... is to be swept across the room dancing hand-in-hand. Haha... but then again, I have two left feet. Might turns out to be an embarrassing moment for me after all. :p

I want to go..... :: Part 2 -- Backpacking again

...cont'

Although the thrifty me feels guilty for spending tens of thousands Ringgit for my 2004 Europe Backpacking trip, I felt it's worth every cent. The experience, the sight and all -- priceless.

I long for those "adventure" again. YES! after too much of "work, work, work" lifestyle, I CRrrrAVE for adventure once a while. Where I can just go wherever I felt like it, meet colourful people along the way and absorb the splendor of Mother Nature.

I want to go..... :: Part 1-- back to the jungle and waterfalls

It's been years since my Work Hard, Play Hard time. Many friends who knows me always complain that I'm always busy. I have always been a workaholic but I used to also reward myself with plentiful of makan-makan & jalan-jalan trips. Not to mention, that means I'm hardly at home too.

However, I have been considered M.I.A. by my traveling kaki as I've immersed myself in work for the recent years -- and I meant 12hrs daily! Very unhealthy, eh? Me think so too.

Partly this sudden change of self-imposed lifestyle (I figured) could be due to some guilt I felt after I flew off to backpack in Europe for almost 3 months in 2004 (will tell you more in part2). Yup, I just dropped everything.... family, friends, work and became a traveler on my own expenses. After I came back from my Europe trip, I kinda told myself, "time to build back what I've left behind" so.... .

All work & no play is taking toll on me and I really yearn for those trips again (without burning a whole in my bank account this time... and when I can bring myself to let go of my work). Soon - a promise to myself.

My Fav Trips #1 : Jungle Trekking

As my mom put it, "can't understand why you like so much going into the jungle!?". The first time my friend, Tom, introduced me to this activity, I just got hooked. But I don't go for "any" jungle trekking - just those with the waterfall at the end of the trek...heheh.

Last October, I managed to go visit the Lata Hammer Waterfall -- a MUST Visit place.

Only city people will go jungle trekking with an umbrella :p

and The Reward....... nice cool deep...aahhhhh!

Bentong Curry Mee: Got to re-charge those "lost" energy, right? Detour to makan-makan on the way back to K.L.

Alamak, so many "side-dishes" to choose from....what to pick ar? :p

Happy 'Niu' Year !

It's THE New Year again... the Chinese New Year (CNY), that is.

History of the Holidays: Chinese New Year
History of the Holidays: Chinese New Year

Normally, this is when many people likes to find out what fortunes lies for them according to the Chinese Zodiac. I'm the gentle rabbit (ahem) and according to The Start newspaper Zodiac Guide, this year I will enjoy good luck, especially in love....wu-hoo!

An old friend, the BaziChic who is the student of the charismatic Joey Yap, also told me that this year is a good year for marriage. However, somehow I have not see any chance of bidding goodbye to single-hood yet. Ahh..... let's not talk about love in this topic. :p

I love CNY because it's when tradition comes alive to it's full glory! I am very much the tradition girl at heart. However, like many younger generations of Malaysian Chinese, many of the cultural knowledge are somewhat in danger of becoming extinct!
My mom with the basket of 'kam' I made

I am a self confessed 'banana' - Yellow outside (skin) but White inside (kepala). I can still speaks a couple of chinese dialects but when it comes to read & write, it's one of my regrets that it's something that I have yet to master. Recently I've come across a new term - COCONUT for the indian of the same dilemma.... hehe.

Anyway, it's better too late than never. Promise to myself- must polish on my Chinese. :)

Here's wishing all.....
新年快乐!万事如意!

Who is JessieEnigma?

Making faces..... something very rare you'll see of Jessie. Many tells me that I gave people the impression that I'm the "tough business woman" type.....*sigh* (really??).

What can I say? I have a serious face...haha. Well, I guess when it comes to work, I try to stay focus and get things done the most efficient way possible. Straight-forward is my style -- not good at playing with words. ;)

Oh, btw Welcome to my blog! This is where I get to blab about me, Me & ME... ;)
